Bloemfontein - South Africa
Bloemfontein makes up the trio of Capital cities, being the judicial capital of the nation. The name means ‘fountain of flowers’ in Afrikaans and the city is commonly known as ‘the city of roses’ which gives you a flavour of what this city is all about, despite the fact that it lies in a largely arid area some 1400 metres above sea level. Situated in the centre of the country in the ‘Free State’, visitors to Bloemfontein often comment on the slower more relaxing pace compared to other major cities in the country.
